A love of needlework and crossword puzzles merged to inspire this collection. The first step to creating the "patchword" panel was to select appropriate sewing-themed words. The challenge lies in connecting them to form open spaces where each word has the opportunity to be illustrated. It's these illustrations that lend themselves to the pattern ideas for the group coordinates. I thought it would be fun for quilt-makers to stitch a quilt with a sewing theme. The nine blocks came together for this purpose. The "hoop" block allows the quilter to sign the front of the project, as well as labeling on the back. The mini blocks are great for pin cushions, sewing ornaments, tote bags and mini-block wall hangings. I hope this collection inspires you to sew, sew, sew!
